Artist Story

Selina is a skilled and established artist known for painting the stories of her father's country, Antarrengeny, in the Utopia region. Her primary themes include 'My Country' and 'Spinifex,' with the latter being particularly distinctive. Selina uses a fan brush to capture the movement of spinifex, creating a unique and dynamic style.

She is the daughter of Lulu Teece Petyarre, a well-known artist who was actively involved in the Utopia Women's Batik Group in the 1980s. Selina learned to paint at a young age by watching her mother, who was a significant influence on her artistic development. Today, Selina has two children and celebrated the birth of her first grandchild in 2023.
